Designed by Derek Cohen of Perth, manufactured in house by Vesper Tools.
These marking knives are for use in super fine dovetailing work. The hardened HSS blade is 0.55mm thick.
Owing to the extremely thin blade these are not for general purpose use. Strictly for making out 'english style' dovetails that are cut with a single saw kerf pin width.
Hand finished with shellac. Available in the standard figured Tasmanian Blackwood.
Or your choice of several timbers in the Mid Range category, Curly Maple, Tiger Myrtle, Olive Wood, Hairy Oak and others depending on production.
Or the Premium range made from the 10,000 yr old Black Red Gum timber.
Sometimes other timbers such as Ringed Gidgee and other Aus natives or exotics are available off the shelf or to order.
Blade not warrantied against breakage owing to its thickness. Standard lifetime warranty on materials and workmanship applies otherwise of course.
One may notice the blades on the Super Thin Cohen Knife is wider than the standard Cohen Knife to compensate for the thickness.
