Designed by Derek Cohen of Perth, manufactured in house by Vesper Tools.
These marking knives are great for use in fine dovetailing work. The hardened HSS blade is 0.9mm thick.
Hand finished with shellac.
Available in the standard figured Tasmanian Blackwood.
Or your choice of several timbers in the Mid Range category, Curly Maple, Tiger Myrtle, Olive Wood, Hairy Oak and others depending on production.
Or the Premium range made from the 10,000 yr old Black Red Gum timber.
Sometimes other timbers such as Ringed Gidgee, Ringed Wilga, Lace Sheoak and other Australian natives or exotic species such may be available off the shelf or to order.
Blade not warrantied against breakage owing to its thickness. Standard lifetime warranty on materials and workmanship applies otherwise of course.
One may notice the blades on the Cohen Knife is narrower than the Super Thin Cohen Knife, this is because the super thin needs more material strength for its lesser thickness.
The knives have arrow head blades with a flat back and a beveled front much like a chisel profile. In use that flat face goes vertically against your square, bevel, or ruler blade for marking to ensure the line goes EXACTLY where you want it.
The Super Premium range is also worth a look if you are after the ultimate.
