These Mini Joinery Knives are hand made in house at Vesper Tools and are the workhorse of the marking out stable.
Useful for everything from marking out joinery work to even cutting paper or veneer. The arrow head shaped blade has a flat back and a beveled front much like a chisel profile, in use it's the flat side that goes against your square, bevel, or ruler blade for marking to ensure the line goes EXACTLY where you want it.
The Mini Joinery Knife is hand polished with several coats of shellac for a beautiful finish.
The Joinery Knife and JK Mini have identical blades but different size handle. Both 3mm thick blades and the JK Mini is approx 165mm long overall.
This caters for a difference in hand size and fit. The general ruling here is that you should choose the larger Joinery Knife as it has great presence in the hand, unless you have small hands or feel you'd prefer the smaller handle of the Mini.
The blade is 3mm thick making it very robust for general workshop use. This is useful for marking out most dovetail and joinery work where that thickness blade will fit. Because of its strength it is useful in place of a set of skew chisels for cleaning out the last of dovetail waste that your regular chisels won't reach.
